Title: WiFi Disconnects and connects automatically.
Post by: sdzshn3@gmail.com on February 08, 2018, 06:30:23 AM
Hey friends.
I have a DIR600M.
I request you to please have a time and patience to read this.
I have Motorola G5 plus device connected to Dir600m router.
What I'm experiencing is my phone frequently disconnects from router and connects again itself within 1 or 2 secs. When this happened I don't see any disconnection in other phones which are connected to same router.

I have discussed about this issue with Motorola software developer and he monitored packets and bug report of my phone.
He gave me a conclusion as my router couldn't able to balance the load and sometimes router couldn't able to send response/packets to my G5 plus. He sent me a clear observation that TX (transmission) is 0.0, 0.0, 0.0 but the RX(receive) is 0.2, 0.X, X.X (X means a number other than 0 zero) for the router (192.168.0.1).
This means router is not responding at all sometimes.
So, when this happened in router, My G5 plus couldn't able to get internet access for few seconds. So my phone disconnect and connect automatically to get rid of this issue.

The software developer also said that some other phones which is Galaxy S4 also not having net acces for few seconds but as the S4 is old phone and old OS, it's not programmed to disconnect and connect again when router not responds.

Here are some other observations.
In my environment,
I have 2 or 3 APs with channel 1.
I have a AP of channel 5 too which can interfere with 1.
So I also tested out 6 and 11 but, even these also has such problem but very often.
I even tried other channels like 4+8, 1+5 etc.
But mostly every channel has such issue.

So the question is what causing it?
What's the solution?

Router Placement
Forum User - "Well I feel really dumb. After moving the router away from other electronic devices my speeds are back to normal. Just a heads up for anyone experiencing slow speeds, you might want to move it away from other electronics and see if that helps."
3-6' feet minimum safe distance between devices.
Placement on main level floor and central in the building and WELL ventilated is preferred. Not in basements or closets as building materials, or near by electronics devices could interfere or hinder good signal propagation.

Hardware version: C1
Software version: 3.05 but (now it's 3.06 with Chinese language so I'll downgrade)
Region: Andhra Pradesh, India.

ISP brought a Fibre optical cable upto my home and converted that cable to a small single yellow wire which is also optical fibre.
They used a media converter to convert optical fibre wire to RJ45.
The converter haa brand as Optilink. But I can't see any model number.

Is the ISP Fiber connection device 1000Mb or 100Mb?

There's no clue to find out.
My package is 10mega bits/s download and 30 for upload.
I assume the fibre has 100.

I would find out from your ISP to see what connection speeds your modem and router connect at. Most modems or ONTs have 1000Mb connection rate support at the port. If this is supported at the modem/ONT, then you may have a bottleneck with speed at the 600M as I believe it only supports 100mb

Also run thru some of the suggestions in my first post to see if anything helps with this
