5029L setup problem
« on: March 04, 2016, 10:52:57 AM »

I have had 2 Dlink 5029L cameras and both have had the same problems.

Both cameras don't seem to be connecting to the network to get DHCP addresses. It looks like they have network connectivity though (light on hub turns on).  I have tried resetting them to factory and didn't do anything. When I plug in teh camera the camera will move, but I only get a red light. I have several other dlink cameras of various models and have never had this issue. Does the 5029L have known issues?

Calling support we walked through a few things, they had me set my computer to static IP to try to connect to the  camera on 192.168.0.20, I am not sure if that IP is a default dlink ip or not, but it didn't do anything.

Thanks

Link>Welcome!

  • What Hardware version is your DCS? Look at the sticker behind or under the camera.
  • Link>What Firmware version is currently loaded? Found on the DCSs web page under status.
  • What region are you located?

What Mfr and model is the main host router?
What wireless modes are you using?
What is the distance between the Camera and the main host router?

Test cameras with uPnP and uPnP Port Forwarding both enabled on ALL cameras: DCS Cloud (L) Series Camera Configuration and Mydlink.com

Check the routers DHCP client table to see what IP addresses, if any, is getting to the cameras. You might turn off ALL cameras and try with just one to get it set up.

How many total cameras do you have?
