First Impressions of 2.01
« on: June 03, 2011, 04:31:06 PM »

Hi there!

Upgraded to 2.01 without any problems.

After reboot of the DNS-320 all features are working well.
Print-Server probs described in http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?topic=37995.
seems to be solved.
My Printer is printing (what's the purpose of a Printer. ;D) well at the NAS

FTP seems to work also, didn't test the anonymous login prob yet.
But will report soon. (or someone other does)

D-Link, well done! Good Job!

Good to know that this device is getting firmware upgrades.
Will test as soon as possible  ;)

Will it be possible to have a Feature Request topic? :)

Just downloaded something using the p2p application after updating to v2.01. My p2p folder seems to have disappeared. The download has downloaded somewhere but I'm not sure where. Will do a search now. Anyone else's p2p folder disappeared after updating??

Thanks :).

I just tried it too, and you're right - this is not resolved yet.

Also when P2P is enabled the device will not hibernate, even when there is no P2P activity.

The initial thread I created is here:
http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?topic=38598.0

D-Link, you mention that both these issues should be fixed - will this be coming in the next beta firmware?

[EDIT: In the above thread D-Link confirmed to me that the fixes for the 2 issues above didn't make the first release, but hopefully will be in the next one]

The time zone bug (http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?topic=38650.0) has been fixed though.

Cheers

Thanks :).

I have found an issue with printing. It doesn't appear that permissions are granted in order for print jobs to get deleted from the spooler after being printed.

I get the error "Permission denied-- user not allowed to delete, pause, or resume print job. User name: carl. Printer name: lp." in the NAS logs if I try and clear the que manually from my PC.

I don't believe there is anything I can change on my PC / NAS to fix this issue. Well I can click on "Clear print Que" on the NAS but surely the que should clear as jobs are printed?

Installed and after reboot, both WD Green weren't detected in (both were as separated volumes).
Altought lights for right and left HDD are on, and they appear in the smart reading tool, they aren't recognized in several places (Configuration/Raid type, System status/Device..)
Wonder why ?

Does anybody know if with this beta dns-320 can recognize .srt subtitles playing .avi movie with UPnP?  ???
I think it's a very useful feature with dlna client (i.e TV) and it's a big lack of dns-320...
I hope they will develop it with the upcoming firmware.
Thanks!  :)

These are all nice things...  BUT... I'm looking for Mac OSX Lion support for Time Machine.  This was the real reason I purchased this device.  Yes, I am well aware that Apple changed the way NAS appliances are accessed in the OS but its also the responsibility of D-Link to keep on top of such changes.

If D-Link would get on this ball...  They would sell LOTS of these NAS appliances.

Hi to everyone,

upgraded a few days ago to 2.01 build 01 , and everything worked fine :)
i've only noticed one thing the size reported by the NAS is now wrong
i've two disks (2*2Tb) in JBOD
in the web interface i see :
3933GB Capacité / 1990GB Disponible   49% it seems to be good ,
but under windows explorer
i see 1.8 Tb free on 1,57 Tb !!! so definitively the size reported by the NAS OS is wrong,
only report one disk size ?
in previews firmware the size reported under Win7 and the web interface were ok ,
could you fix that ?

Another thing i've seen but it's since the first firmware, they're no options in the scheduler To Turn ON  the NAS at a selected time, it would be fine if you add this, exactly like the option To Turn OFF the NAS

thanks in advance for the next firmware.

Strange problem.
Installed the older firmware (2.0) and now the main led doesn't work, weird.

Hi to Everyone, it's me again
i've just reverted to official 2.0 firmware because i've lost some files with the 2.01
after writing the files , when i tried to access them , they were 0 bytes files :-(

as i said before the size reported to the system was wrong
i've 2*2 TB and seems only one Drive was seen 1,8TB free on 1.57 Tb !!!

So now reverted to original 2.0 firmware and the size reported is ok
and put back my files on the NAS
seems is ok now

i think thete is a "bug" in JBOD with 2.01 and two disks of identical size,
when you reach the limit of the first disk the swicth to the second one is buggy !!!

the problem appeared for me at about 50% of my total capacity 4 TB

hope you'll find the "bug" and solve it  for the next firmware
you the one with the scheduler to turn ON the NAS at a desired time !!
