weak wifi pickup.
« on: February 06, 2018, 11:12:24 AM »

I bought a 936l and set it up, but it only works if in same room as modem/router.  i got a 933 and it's in a building 100 ft away and works good.
My question does all 936 have weak wifi pickup or is mine not working correctly?

The range is decent on the 936L.

What router are you using?

If line-of-site from the 936L camera to the router is like 1 or 2 walls without any interference or things like fish tanks and metal, mirrors, etc it should work fine.

Make sure you have the latest firmware installed. Try possibly resetting the camera and set up from scratch. If it still doesn't connect outside the room something is definitely wrong with that camera.

My 936L at home is around 60 feet on a different floor from my router and connects ok.

I reset and tried it again an0d it seems to be a little better, but still cant connect 100' away. my 933 works great in same building.  i have good signal on my cell phone and tried a wifi signal app. the app show good signal from router and it shows strong wifi signal from 936. how does that work? (i got wifi from router and wifi signal from 936).

Ok, got it to work! had to turn old camera and cell phone off in order for 936 to get signal in building 100' away. turn 933 back on and both are working, i guess wifi was interfering with each other.
