Setup problem with WRT610N
« on: December 06, 2009, 01:56:16 PM »

Hi there,

I am having a setup problem with my new HP computer with Windows 7.

I bought a DWA-160 (ver A1) because the Linksys model didn't work with Windows 7. I was able to set it up and use the DWA-160 without problem on my Linksys Wireless G router.

However, I then replaced the router with the WRT610N, a simultaneous dual-band N router. While the rest of my computers had no problem with the transition (they run Windows XP), now the Windows 7 system with the DWA-160 doesn't seem to work. It doesn't seem to pick up the network, and when I tried reinstalling the DWA-160, at the last step it says that an adapter is not plugged in (even though it is) and to plug it in. When I replugged it in, and hit OK, it just said Finished. But then, no recognizing any wireless networks. The properties show the Driver is "working properly".

Any thoughts as to what might be the problem?

Thanks, Ray.
