Block Specific UDP Port - DES 3526

(1/1)

theeld:
Am I able to configure a DES 3526 to block a specific UDP port # on a specific (or in general) physical port number (1-24). Can I do so through the html interface??

Ex:
I want to block UDP port 50100 on port #9

FurryNutz:
I would reference the user manual and see if there is any information regarding this...

So I have enabled an Access Profile Configuration of type IP, using protocol UDP.  When I try to add an access rule to DENY a specific UDP port, I have issues because it doesnt seem to accept the port values I enter. src port = 49859 dest port = 50099, Port Number = 9, when applied it appears to DENY all UDP on port 9. When I review the configuration. I see the src/dest ports set to 0 as if they werent accepted.

The Src Port/Dest Port fields appear to be width of 5 characters, so hex 0xhhhh format doesnt appear allowed, so I was entering in decimal.

Ive also tried 'hhhh' format as well as 'xhhhh' to no avail. All combinations seem just set the src/dest ports back to 0 (default), but applies universal physical port 9 DENY :(

PacketTracer:
Hi,

the DES-3526 has a strange way to configure ports in that is demands to specify "port masks" in the corresponding access profile configuration. Hence for concrete port values (in your case 49859 and 9) you should have to specify the value ffff for both UDP 'src port mask' and 'dst port mask'. The default value 0000 means 'any port' no matter what values you specify in the access rule.
