With respect to IP Cam Viewer Lite and DSC-930 and 932:

When running in multi screen view (top level of app) your live video does not cause the green light on your cameras to blink on and off.   Only when you go to single camera view will the green light blink on and off.

Found this to be odd.

It is possible to view the video feed from many D-Link cameras in the free, open-source media player "VLC".  http://www.videolan.org/vlc/index.html
The website claims support for Windows, Mac, Linux, iOS, Android, and others.
VLC is also great for playing most types of media such as movies, music, DVDs, etc.

To view the video stream (only, no audio):

In VLC, go to Media - Open Network Steam
For the Network URL, enter http://IPaddress:portnumber/video/mjpg.cgi (Where IPaddress and portnumber are the IP Address and port number for your camera.)
You will be prompted for your username and password, then the feed will start.
If you want to have an always-on-top video frame, you can set VLC to "Always On Top" in the Video menu, and "Minimal Interface" in the View menu.

You can also add your username and password to the URL to skip the login prompt like so: http://username:password@IPaddress:portnumber/video/mjpg.cgi

The audio stream is available separately at http://IPaddress:portnumber/audio.cgi
In my version of VLC, the video would play continuously, but the audio would play 30 seconds at a time.
There is also an option for playing two sources of media concurrently, but setting the Audio stream as a secondary media source would present two login prompts, but only the primary stream (video) would play.

Just as a note, tried "ispy" and it looked great. However my windows 7 laptop it was running on would shut down after several hours on its own. Repeated numerous times. Do not know if that program is the culprit but I shut down the application and the computer seems to be behaving better.

Hi, Just providing some further info on the support for our new DCS-825L Baby monitor.

ReverendTed is correct on the /video/mjpg.cgi URL. Most software will sure handle MJPEG okay, but if you point your software to the 'Real Time Streaming Protocol' URL, you'll get the much smoother (25+ fps) H.264/MPEG4 feed, including audio, as used in the mydlink baby monitor app! rtsp://admin:pass@ip-address:554/play1.sdp (or play3.sdp appears to be a stream of the MJPEG version).

I've confirmed the RTSP/SDP works great through VLC (on MacOSX and Windows) as a Network Stream url, and also in iSpy (Win64 using the FFmpeg engine).

Now if only the mydlink baby android app was as comprehensive in its monitoring settings as iSpy...

Also, now I'm curious about the other backdoor functionality of this hardware/firmware. If I can work out what the login/pass for the Telnet console is would be sweet: /cgi/admin/telnetd.cgi?command=on
