D-Link DSL-2750U Suddenly not forwarding
« on: April 28, 2013, 10:15:38 AM »

So I've had my router for a few months now, and about two months ago, I decided to host my own server. I registered a dlink dynamic dns (dlinkddns) and everything worked like a dream. I connected via vpn to my network, ran my AD, viewed my website and all that jazz... LIFE WAS GREAT!

BUT, one day (not too long ago), the router decided: "Screw you! You shall NOT be forwarded to the server!!!! MUWAHAHAHAHA!"  This is where my problems begin. I noticed that all my port forwards have been reset, and that the list was empty! You should know that the list was almost maxed.

I've restored the modem to factory defaults and started the whole process over, forwarding ports 80 and 81, 443, and other relevant ports to my server (Windows Server 2008 R2), creating a static IP for the server: 10.0.0.14, and setting 10.0.0.14 as the DMZ server.

IT STILL ISN'T FORWARDING TO THE SERVER!!!
Could anyone, and I mean ANYONE please please please help me? I'm begging you here. ???

Try to disable uPnP if you have configured PF.  ???

Disabling UPnP isn't working. I think I've found the issue out of pure frustration. We had a power outage, and my server miraculously has two MAC Addresses for the wired connection. I've dropped the server, reset the modem and reconfigured the static IP for the server to use the current MAC address. I'll test if it's working correctly tomorrow. Will keep you updated.

If you have any other solutions, please, don't hesitate. at all. really. don't.

Try setting a IP reservation on the Modem if possible. This should keep the MAC address and he IP address assigned and should help if the MAC address on the devices doesn't change.

Keep us posted.

Hi All,

I was setting it up and was facing issues initially. Finally managed to make it work.
SOLUTION:
Static IP range is defined in VPN>Properties>Networking Tab>Internet Protocol Version 4>Properties
And this IP range should not conflict with DHCP range configured on router.

My Setup is configured as below:

Incoming VPN Connection has:
1. user account configured (non admin user would be good)
2. Static IP range is defined in VPN>Properties>Networking Tab>Internet Protocol Version 4>Properties
And this IP range should not conflict with DHCP range configured.
Example
Reduce the IP Scope on Router to 192.168.1.40
and
Define
IP range starting 192.168.1.41-50 in VPN Server.

Outgoing Connection:
PPTP

Router Virtual Server\Port Forwarding settings:
only port required is 1723 nothing else.
DMZ not required, it would open all WAN access to the IP address you give.
