Iphone floods log
« on: July 02, 2012, 10:36:23 AM »

My iPhone 4 floods my log with:
[INFO] [date] [routername]: Wireless system with MAC address [iPhone] secured and linked
[INFO] [date] [routername]: Wireless system with MAC address [iPhone] associated

What's the reason for this and is there anything I can do to prevent it?

What exactly is "going to sleep"? When the screen turns black? Or after what period? I can have have 10 reconnects in just a couple of minutes.

If you're talking about my Iphones "auto-lock" it's 5 minutes. I assume that is not the same timer as for the iPhones Wi-fi connection but I don't know where to find that....

Maybe worthwhile to point out that the iPhone has a static address in the router.

What is the reason that I don't get an "[routername]: Wireless system with MAC address [iPhone]disconnected for reason: Received Deauthentication" between these "secured, linked and associated" entries? I only get the "deauthentication" message when I manually shut off the Wi-fi in the iPhone.

Either the sleep mode timed out and the phone went to sleep, interferences possibly or the phone left the wireless range while still ON.

I see these messages even on a Apple Airport Extreme. It's how the router is just saying, hey, the iphone is not connected. It's up to the iphone to get reconnected when in range or turned ON.
