How To Power Cycle Xbox One Console - NAT Issues
« on: January 23, 2016, 11:03:42 AM »

The following procedure is recommended when experiencing NAT issues (Moderate / Strict) for the  Xbox One when gaming on Xbox Live.

Physically Power Cycle The Console

1. Turn off your console by holding the Xbox button on the front of the console for approximately 10 seconds. The console will turn off.

2. Turn your console back on by pressing the Xbox button on the console or the Xbox button on your controller.
**NOTE - If you don't see the green boot-up animation when the console restarts, repeat these steps. Make sure that you hold the power button until the console completely shuts down.**

**IMPORTANT - If your console is in Instant-On power mode, the above steps will shut the console completely off. Instant-On mode, or the ability to turn on your console by saying "Xbox on," won't be enabled until you restart the console.**

Disconnect and Reconnect Your Console's Power Cable

1. Turn off the Xbox One console by pressing the Xbox button on the front of the console for about 10 seconds until it shuts down completely.

2. Unplug the console's power cable. Wait 10 seconds.
**Important - Be sure to wait 10 seconds. This step resets the power supply.**

3. Plug the console power cable back in.

4. Press the Xbox button on your console to turn on the Xbox One.

**This should resolve most NAT issues (Moderate / Strict).  If you're still experiencing NAT issues (Moderate / Strict), please go to SETTINGS, NETWORK, and scroll down to GO OFFLINE to disconnect the Xbox One console from your home network.  Wait 10 seconds.  Now select GO ONLINE.**

**As always, a WIRED CONNECTION to your router is the preferred type of connection when gaming on Xbox Live via the Xbox One (or Xbox 360).**

Also give this a try for two or more XB1s:

Seems that leaving the XB1s online, rebooting the main host router. Then disabling the xbox network adapter on the xbox that's exhibiting moderate or strict NAT then re-enabling it seems to bring the xbox to a OPEN NAT condition.

Users of any Mfr router should be aware of this issue with newer generation routers and two or more game consoles being online at the same time with the same game:
