Title: Problems placing DVG-1120M behind DIR-825 Router
Post by: eagle.russ on February 28, 2009, 08:42:43 PM
I'm trying to get my DVG-1120M Voip gateway/router to connect to my provider from behind my new DIR-825 router.  This worked with no port forwarding or anything behind my old Linksys G router.  I've tried:
a. Putting ip address in the DMZ
b. Without it being in DMZ, I've tried setting up port-forwarding
c. Turning of dns relay
d. Turning off automatic uplink
e. Disabling QOS

Any other suggestions?  The DVG-1120M sits here with a blinking amber and then red light.

Nevermind - I figured out the problem.  The old DVG-1120M does not pick up the DNS server names for some reason with this router.  So, I had to hard-code some DNS servers within it.

Also - I had to place the server on the DMZ (no port forwarding rules) and disabled the Enable DNS Relay setting.
