Title: How to obtain a low latency video stream from the DCS-4703E?
Post by: VeridosCamera on September 06, 2017, 08:53:40 AM
Hello,

when accessing the DCS-4703E camera with the browser there is the possibility of seeing the live video stream by means of an ActiveX control.
That stream looks great and has a very low latency.

However, when I attempt to get the stream using either HTTP or RTSP the resulting video is delayed a lot, like about 1,5 or 2 seconds.

How can we get rid of the delay? What is the URL for use with VLC for example?

Thanks and best regards,
VeridosCam

What Mfr and model is the main host router?

Probabably not a camera issue rather a process of everything logging in to the camera and getting video going. The delay isn't too long.
I recommend setting a static IP address ON the cameras outside of the main host routers default DHCP IP address pool as a troubleshooting step: 192.168.#.10 and .11  DHCP (http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?topic=58017.0)

See if any of these helps:
