DLink firmware and Java
« on: June 03, 2014, 07:06:52 PM »

Google Chrome no longer supports Java in the latest release for us Linux users and Windows isn't too far around the corner, I'm reading by the end of 2014. The firmware for my DCS 932L and 5020L cameras is obviously highly dependent on Java making it useless to me on my Linux computers using Chrome. Are there plans to phase out Java down the road in the firmware for DLink cameras?    I know Firefox and Internet Explorer are alternates but lets be honest, once you start using Chrome there's no going back to those browsers.

From everything that I've read, the firmware appears to be built around IE compatibility first and foremost, with Firefox and other browsers as a secondary consideration.  :-\  ???
