Title: UPNP updates in firmware revision 1.04
Post by: dicrouthamel on November 28, 2007, 09:25:51 AM
Wondering if there is a sneak peek to knowing what sort of changes/enhancements can be expected with the built in UPNP server in 1.04.

TIA.

Ditto here.  Will it support flac files (I don't need transcode, just the ability to serve flac content).

As you noticed your post was edited. Do not post release notes here unless it is US related. Also those "release notes" that you posted are mostly internal changes from Build-to-Build and are not neccessarily changes from one release firmware to the next.

Regarding sneak peak wise,

Changes to the UPNP AV server in 1.04 include automatic refresh of the UPNP AV media list on intervals configurable by the user, a percentage bar when refreshing the media manually to show current status of re-indexing the media(this applies to both the UPNP AV and iTunes server) and better compatibility with other DLNA compliant media streamers.

As per flac support, it is not supported in 1.04 however we can look into adding support for more file extensions for streaming.
