Can't find 942L in Australia
« on: March 10, 2014, 05:31:03 PM »

Is the 942L being replaced by another model? Can't seem to find one in Australia, all sold out.

Feature-wise, the DCS-2132L seems to closely match the functionality supported by the DCS-942L and more, although the form-factor is a bit different.  Nonetheless, I'll see if I can find anything out.

I just heard back from D-Link. At present there is no new direct successor to the DCS-942L that's on the market and there's no word on when a successor will be released. Typically, D-Link publishes a press release for new cameras months before they are available for consumer purchase. Given that no press releases were published specifically for a next generation replacement for the DCS-942L, my guess would be that even if there is a replacement on its way, the availability would at least several months off from the time an announcement is made.
