DCS-5222L

NOTE: Be sure that your wireless signal on the main host router is good and signal is strong with the camera if it's connected wirelessly. If your confident in this, upgrade via wireless with the camera can proceed. If your not confident in the wireless signal, use a wired LAN cable connection to the camera before upgrading the camera. This would help avoid any wireless FW upgrade problems.

i have noticed an issue with this firmware release on my two DCS-5222L

I can no longer completely turn off the IR leds ...

Since I use my cameras indoors but have them looking outside, I cannot have the IR lights turned on. They reflect back and make a big white glare.

However, I DO have the IR Cut filter set to auto ... this works fine as I have motion sensor lights outside my home.

What I have noticed since this update (I did it last week)  the IR lights are either on full bright (set to night mode)  or are on dim (daylight or auto mode)

I have made two calls to DLink support today, and part of the time was waiting on hold over 45 minutes to get a higher level tech on the line.

I rolled the firmware back to 2.13 and regained the IR functionality of the cameras - temporarily -   now I cannot get them to be  recognized in either the MyDlink android app, or the MyDlink.com website.

Thanks for mentioning this.

This is interesting.  My DCS-2330L - with the new 1.14 F/W (like within last couple weeks) - I swear I was seeing the IR lights and thought they were failing (as it was really dim).  But I had turned them off in the F/W.  Then I thought it was a reflection...but it maybe this case you have noted.  I'll have to play around and go back to 1.12 on the DCS-2330L and see what happens.

I do have a 5222LB I could try this F/W on..

I downgraded to F/W 1.12 on my DCS-2330L - and the IR is completely off again.

I definitely believe you.  So the question is what happened on these newer F/W's? and why?

I've passed this on to D-Link for review. Please be patient.

I have four DCS-5222L Rev B cameras in three locations and since updating the firmware to the latest version, the cameras appear to randomly become unavailable to the remote D-Link apps, including remote web browser access.  If the cameras are rebooted, they come back online.  If I connect to the cameras through their local IP addresses on the LAN they are on, they appear to be working just fine.  I've set the cameras to reboot daily in an attempt to get them to come back online over the Internet.  Is this a known issue with the latest firmware--would a down-grade to a prior version address the issue?  Alternatively, is this a D-Link issue that needs attention?

Link>Welcome!

  • What region are you located?

What Mfr and model is the main host router?
What wireless modes are you using?
What is the distance between the Camera and the main host router?
How many other wireless devices do you have connected to the main host router?
  • Any 2.4Ghz or 5Ghz cordless house phones or WiFi APs near by that maybe causing interferences?
  • Any other WiFi routers in the area that maybe causing interferences? Link> Use a WiFi Scanner to find out. How many?

I recommend setting a static IP address ON the cameras outside of the main host routers default DHCP IP address pool as a troubleshooting step: 192.168.#.52 and .so one  DHCP

Test cameras with uPnP and uPnP Port Forwarding both enabled on ALL cameras: DCS Cloud (L) Series Camera Configuration and Mydlink.com

Please try one camera and downgrade the one and see if you see any differences in behavior.

My 5222L with original firmware has not disconnected from mydlink.
I bought it 08/28/13.

ok I have the same problem. dcs-5222lb1  after the upgrade,  the camera goes offline within a few hours.  power cycle gets it back online.
before the upgrade, everything was fine.

I also have a dcs-2132lb1 on the network but no problems.

region is new England
router is Netgear
cordless phones are 6.0
2 cameras and a few printers, 2 laptops, 2 tablets, 2 phones, directV,  are on the network.

The only thing new is the firmware

distance from router is 50 ft

Do you have the camera set up for a static IP address on the router?
What wireless modes are you using? Manual mode is preferred.
What security mode are you using? WPA2 Personal and AES only is preferred.
What Mfr and model is the main host router?
How many other devices do you have connected to the router at once?

1. IP address is on DHCP reservation list on router 816L
2. wireless mode is Infrastructure  (infra or adhoc is the dropdown choice)
3. the camera is WPA2 and (TKIP,AES).  there is no choice for AES only
4. Router is dlink 816L B1 on firmware 206
5. the router have - 2 iphone iOS10,1 ipad air, 1 laptop, 1 NAS, 1 apple tv3, no torrent

Can you reboot the router?

I have some 2.4 GHz cams that drop off my main router at times like the 5222LB1 (orig f/w) and DCS2330L (orig F/W) in mydlink, and also locally.

It hasn't happened in a while since I turned off my IPOD 2.0 Touch...but it has started to happen recently.  I should probably reboot my asus router, and I should probably move those cams to another router.
