Title: SNMP compatible?
Post by: ddochstader on January 10, 2012, 01:49:16 PM
I am trying to use a program to monitor my internet usage on several computers. I am using NETWORX which can do that if my router supports SNMP. I can't seam to find any info saying that it does or how to configure it.

Am I right in assuming that it doesn't support SNMP.

If not, does anyone have any economical means of monitoring my usage?

You would probably need an enterprise class router to do this.

For a consumer model you would need 3rd party firmware or for the manufacture to natively support it in the firmware.

The DIR-827 does not support SNMP for network management. However, it does support SNMP's replacement, the new industry TR-069 standard. I saw an open source ACS TR-069 server for D-Link put up on http://sourceforge.net/p/tr069dlink/home/Home/.
