Hi

I am looking to purchase a D-link router that I can limit the access of some users to my network.

I would like to only allow guest to access the internet, but not view my network.

Can you recommend which d-link routers that I can configure to do this?

5GHz would be preferable.

DIR 8 and 6 series routers can do this. You'll need Guest Zone for this.

DIR-865L, 857, 827, 835, 825, 657, 655, 645 will do this.

Thank you so much for the info.

I will try to download on of the routers you mention and try to find the instructions on how to grant guest access to the internet only, and no Local network access.

Guest Zone is easy, just enable, set security mode and password that you give to people whom you give access to.

Hi FurryNutz,

I see - All I need to do is enable Guest Zone, set the security mode and password.

So Guest Zone only allows access to the Internet but not Local Network.

Sometimes I have guest who come to the house/office and I don't want them to access my Local Server.
