Cannot get port forwarding to work
« on: January 27, 2015, 03:52:35 AM »

Hi,

I've followed the instructions listed from the port forwarding post that people have been using to stream their IP camera onto their own websites, but I run into trouble when I try to access the port I forward. I have checked that the port is indeed forwarded and opened (I change it to 9005) using http://www.yougetsignal.com/tools/open-ports/  . So when I go to http://my WAN IP:9005, my browser shows that "Webpage is not available". However, when I go to the local link to the camera, http://10.0.0.101:9005 it goes to the UI configuration. Am I doing something wrong? I have an Xfinity router.

Internet Service Provider and Modem Configurations
  • What ISP Service do you have? Cable or DSL?
  • What ISP Modem Mfr. and model # do you have?

I recommend you contact the Mfr or Comcast for support and configuration of the router to ensure that the forwarding is configured correctly.

I have cable through Comcast XFinity. The model modem is an Acris TG862G/TC. Here are some pictures from the router homepage showing which port I am forwarding, trying to see if it is open on another website to make sure it's open by my router, and two pictures from the UI of my D-Link when I go to it's homepage using my LAN IP address since the WAN does not work. Any chance I made a mistake somewhere?

Seems like everything is set up if the port service site is coming back with right results.

Contact the ISP and ask them about configuration of the ISP modem. Have then check to see about configuration.

I presume that the mydlink.com feature works with the camera as well?

What FW version is currently loaded on the Camera?

Yes, mydlink.com feature works perfectly fine. The FW version loaded on the camera is version 2.00
