DCS-825L WIFI password?
« on: September 09, 2015, 06:41:22 AM »

Hello,
My daughter removed the sticker on the camera which has the WIFI password printed on it, she loves stickers and though it a good idea to put it somewhere else.. I didn't realize this when I hard re-set the camera at granddad's house.
Now without the password I cannot access the camera anymore, cannot connect to it directly nor set it up in the home network.
Any ideas how to access it again?
Thanks,
Kurt

Was there a card inside the box with this information as well? I know that D-Link routers have a card along with the sticker that has the same info.

I suppose there was, but safe to assume I threw that away with the box!
My fault of course, just didn't think a baby monitor would need all this security..

Camera is a Camera and it's got wireless. So it had to adhere to the wireless standards just like wireless routers. I wish there was a wired LAN connection on this model, then you could probably gain access via the SW and IP address. Since it doesn't and it's wireless only, it needs to be connected to the router to complete the set up. I don't have any experience with this camera. I recommend that you phone contact your regional D-Link support office and ask for help and information regarding this. We find that phone contact has better immediate results over using email.
Let us know how it goes please.

Just got of the phone with Dlink support, without the serial number (also on the sticker..) they cannot help.

Shame, but it looks like it's time to bin the camera!

Lesson learnt: Always keep the paperwork! (Or get a less complicated product)

I recommend getting a camera with a LAN wired connected as well. Easier to gain access to the camera if that is supported.
A shame it can't be recovered. Sorry. Lessons learned.

The 933L is a nice camera and works well for me. Has audio and night vision too.

Also, keep any inbox documentation, cards and stickers for any devices you have in a folder and keep this some place safe for future reference. I keep my boxes as precaution.

Good Luck.
