My iPhone is unable to find my Brother 3170CDW printer once as soon as I installed the DIR-882 router. Everything works great on my Windows computer, but just not my iPhone. There were some other (ancient) posts that tried to solve for this, but they all referred to settings that were not available in the web UI for this router. I'm hoping someone has an update? Link>Welcome! (http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?topic=49573.0)
- What Hardware version is your router? Look at sticker under the router case.
- Link>What Firmware (http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?topic=47512.0) version is currently loaded? Found on the routers web page under status.
- What region are you located?
What iOS are you using?
What older post referenced fixing Air Print?
These are older references I have for AirPrint:

Thanks Furry:
Hardware version is: A1
Firmware version is: 1.11
Region: USA (California)
The older post I was referencing is this: http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?topic=57041.0
But both that link and http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?topic=45869.msg185673#msg185673 go back to 2012 and many of the options (such as Endpoint Independent for TCP and UDP) are just not available anymore.
Also, it looks like if I reboot the printer (Brother HL-3170CDW) it does show up under airprint for a few minutes and then goes away.
Thanks for your help (and happy new year!)

I'll see if D-Link will review this and check on if they can help or maybe made a change in FW.
The EndPoint options were nice to have back then. I don't know if that would be effecting this or something else. EndPoint features were dealing with NAT Filtering and how things connected to various ports on the WAN side, not really having to do with LAN side connections.
Sounds like it working after a printer reboot then stops. Is the printer going into any sleep modes?
Try setting a static IP address ON the printer thats outside of the routers default DCHP IP address pool range. 192.168.0.100 thru .200 is usually default pool size. Set a static IP address of 192.168.0.31 on the printer itself.

I set the printer to sleep after 50 minutes,, so it appears "ready" even when the airprint can't find.
I tried setting the IP address you suggested but got an error in the D-Link web UI "Please enter a valid IP address.". :)
If you have any other thoughts let me know,, and thanks again for your help!

You need to set up the Static iP address ON the printer, not the router. ;)

Ha, sorry about that.
I updated the IP Address to 192.168.0.31
and left the subnet mask at 255.255.255.0 and the gateway at 192.168.0.1
but alas, same behavior as before. I can find the printer right when I start up the printer, but 20 minutes later (even if the printer shows ready and is not asleep) I cannot find the printer on the iPhone.

Can you connect the printer to the router via ethernet cable and disable the wifi on the printer to see if the mobile phones can connect using the routers wifi to the printer? Not sure if this would work.
Seems like the wifi on the printer maybe stopping after a period of time since after first getting a connection, the air print over wifi works at first then stops after a period of time.
Did this work on your prior router? What was the mfr and model#?
