How do I create or alter folders with network storage?
« on: March 02, 2013, 12:23:25 PM »

I'm currently using a 16 gig SD card in my DIR-857 for a bit of network storage but have encountered an issue: I can't seem to create or alter folders on the router enabled storage via Windows File Explorer nor can I add files to the existing folders. How exactly does one do this?

Also, are there any capacity limitations on the size hard drive that can be attached to the DIR-857?

Thanks in advance for any information anyone can provide.

Is the SD card formatted for one of the following:
NTFS or FAT32?

I think you can access the drive from Windows Explorer however it needs to be formatted in a PC first.

I tried reformatting as NTFS but it made no difference.

The DIR-857 shows up in File Explorer and I can view the default folders it lists, but that's it.

I can access the media server and network storage web interface and it will let me create folders there, but this is not then reflected in File Explorer and it will not let me upload files.

The router is recognizing the SD card and properly registering it's size according to the routers web interface. I'm kind of at a loss.
