Is anyone else experiencing a problem with DIR-855L, code 1.03b01 (registering the DIR-855L) to myDlink after resetting the router to factory settings?
I have noticed that running code 1.03b01, after factory reset is performed, (which clears all setting to include the MyDlink registration) I am unable to register the device with myDlink.
I have a two workarounds,
1.   is to restore the previous router configuration file (if user has saved it).
2.   downgrade the code, register and then upgrade the code back to 1.03b01.

Link>Welcome!

  • What Hardware version is your router? Look at sticker under the router case.
  • Link>What Firmware version is currently loaded? Found on the routers web page under status.
  • What region are you located?

Internet Service Provider and Modem Configurations
  • What ISP Service do you have? Cable or DSL?
  • What ISP Modem Mfr. and model # do you have?

Have you attempted to remove it from the main mydlink.com web site first, then do a factory reset on the router then try to re-register?

Please follow this for doing any FW updates or downgrades:
FW Update Process

PC 3rd Party Security Software Configurations
  • Turn off all anti virus and firewall programs on PC while testing. 3rd party firewalls are not generally needed when using routers as they are effective on blocking malicious inbound traffic.

Asking for ISP service and modem info is applicable. If the ISP modem has a built in router, it's best to bridge the modem. Having 2 routers on the same line can cause connection problems: Link>Double NAT and How NAT Works.

There has been some issues with the MDL service.

I recommend that you phone contact your regional D-Link support office and ask for help and information regarding this. We find that phone contact has better immediate results over using email.
Let us know how it goes please.
