How many concurrent apps can StreamBoost™ accommodate?
« on: August 01, 2013, 07:49:33 PM »

StreamBoost™ allows your home network to accommodate numerous simultaneous applications, to the limits of your Internet connection:  HD video streams, online games, real-time communications (VoIP, Video) and file download. If we consider a typical 10 down/1 up Mbps Internet connection, most current routers will struggle with the simple set of applications: HD streaming, online game and file download. In this example on the typical router, the streaming video will stutter, the online game will show high latency and the file download will consume up to a third of the bandwidth. Then compare when StreamBoost™ applies traffic shaping techniques to allow for the following on the same 10/1 Mbps Internet connection:

  • 2 720p HD video streams with uninterrupted performance
  • 2 Online games with low latency
  • 2 file downloads running in the background until completed
  • 2 VoIP calls with crystal clear clarity
