Title: DSL-2640U router firmware update failure
Post by: inframeedo on January 05, 2012, 07:23:42 AM
Hi all,

I didn't know where to put this post, so excuses me if this is not the right place.

I have D-Link DSL-2640U router. I tried to update its firmware (using google chrome) using the wireless connection. But after uploading the file, the router showed a message telling that upload FAILED!!!

Now I can't access the router totally. The default IP was 192.168.1.1. I tried RESET button but no benefit too.

HELP PLEASE !!!

I would try using IE or FF.

I might try this:
http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?topic=44909.0 (http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?topic=44909.0)

If that doesn't work, then I would contact D-Link support for help.

I tried that one, but nothing.

I want to highlight that the status LED is not working (which if is blinking means every thing is allright, and if constant light not blinking or dark means an error), and the ADSL LED is not lighting at all, and the INTERNET LED is steadily green.

Time to call DLink for an RMA.

Let us know how it goes.
