Title: Omna 180 - motion detection problem
Post by: svobod3 on January 23, 2019, 02:16:48 AM
Hi, I have problem with motion detection. as a motion camera detects also change from color mode to black/white mode (during sunset) and vice versa from black/white mode to color mode (during sunrise). Is there any way how to avoid these false detections?

Unfortunately this is a common issue with many cameras on the market (not just D-Link) that uses pixel change (vs PIR) for motion detection. Switching from day-to-night and night-to-day is a side effect.

Ok, thanks a lot for the explanation.

If your motion camera is triggering false detections during the transition from color mode to black/white mode or vice versa, there are a few things you can try to minimize these false positives:

Adjust the motion detection settings: Many motion cameras allow you to adjust the sensitivity of the motion detection feature http://gamingini.com (http://Gamingini.com). Try adjusting the sensitivity settings to see if that reduces the number of false detections triggered during the transition from color to black/white mode or vice versa.

Adjust the camera's field of view: If the camera is triggering false detections due to changes in lighting during sunrise or sunset, adjusting the camera's field of view may help. Try positioning the camera so that it's not pointed directly at the sunrise or sunset, which can cause changes in lighting that trigger false detections.

Use a separate light sensor: If your camera supports it, you may be able to use an external light sensor to trigger the camera's black/white mode instead of relying on the camera's built-in light sensor. This can help prevent false detections triggered by changes in lighting during sunrise or sunset.

Use a different camera: If none of the above options work, you may need to consider using a different camera that is better suited to your specific environment and lighting conditions. Look for a camera with better motion detection capabilities and a more advanced light sensor.

Keep in mind that motion cameras can be sensitive to changes in lighting, so it may be difficult to completely eliminate false detections triggered by changes in lighting during sunrise or sunset. However, by experimenting with the settings and positioning of your camera, you should be able to minimize these false positives and get more accurate motion detection.
