Connecting to a VPN using Windows XP client
« on: December 05, 2010, 01:14:28 PM »

I connected a DIR-130 to a DIR-655 (wan>>lan) and then created a pptp vpn. In the DIR-655 I then opened the 1723 and 1701 ports for PPTP and L2TP respectively. My cable modem is connected to the DIR-655.

I am now trying to access the vpn using the client in windows xp but I am not sure which IP address I should use as the hostname. I guess it should be the WAN address given to the DIR-655 by the modem but this set-up did not work. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
