Trying to connect
« on: May 11, 2019, 12:45:06 PM »

I am running with Ubuntu 18.04.2 (linux)

Model: DAP-1650 A1
s/n RZ5R1F1001296
H/W Ver.:A1  F/W Ver.:1.02
Password:   xswts05226
WPS PIN:   3916302
MAC ID:      48EE0C68EFDC

Wi-Fi name (SSID) 2.4GHz:Dlink-EFDC
Wi-Fi Name (SSID) 5Ghz:Dlink-EFDC-5GHz

Default Access Point:   192.168.0.50
Web Browser link:   http://dlinkap.local

This from dlink
dlink-a8fa      akbdj1936  (I have no idea where this is from but it may be from a dlink router I have)

ssid's for dap-1650 showing on computer as (turned unit off and on to make sure):
TP-LINK_7496C2-EXT5G
TP-LINK_7496C2-EXT

Available security options are:
WEP 40/128 BIT KEY (hEX OR ascii)
WEP 128-bit Passphrase
LEAP
Dynamic WEP (802.1)
WPA & WPA2 Personal
WPA & WPA2 Enterprise

I choose WPA & WPA2 Personal to connect with.

I am assuming the above or correct ssid's even though they have nothing to do with the ssid's on the back of the unit.  When trying to connect I used xswts05226 as per the back of the unit
it did not work and I tried it on both ssid's

The signal strength of TP-LINK_7496C2-EXT5G is excellent.  Hardware (mac) Address is A0:88:B4:B8:FF:A4
Same for TP-LINK_7496C2-EXT

I cannot find the card that came with the unit so I don't have access that that info which may be my problem but this should, in theory work?

What I am trying to do is to extend the signal from a wireless security system.  I can also see its ssid in available networks.

Thank you................
