At times, D-Link publishes global (worldwide) firmware updates on the official D-Link Taiwan site as well as other international official D-Link sites, while the same firmware is not immediately available on the D-Link USA website and FTP site. The reason for this delay is that the D-Link USA follows an independent quality assurance (QA) process to test the stability and functionality of new firmware prior to release.
While users may find this delay inconvenient, this testing protocol is in place to protect United States D-Link customers and ensure that new firmware works properly on D-Link hardware purchased in the United States.
