Seems to be a little bit better now, but I think the light is still too low on the other side of the room. What is the maximum distance the cam can illuminate at night?

Should I buy an extra IR illuminator?

Ya you could buy extra illumination for those dark corners. Seems that the brightness is a bit better. Maybe the shape of this room and how you have the camera placed and and the farthest distance maybe a factor here.

I have one of these cameras and the problem is they just do not have adequate IR lights as compared to other models.  I bought a low cost separate IR light.  It easily lights up the whole room and makes the camera useful at night.

Do you have a link and brand info for this separate external IR light?

This is the one I bought: https://www.amazon.com/Sonline-Illuminator-Infrared-Vision-Security/dp/B00YTWRU4Y/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1476463355&sr=8-1

There are quite a few options out there and they are not expensive.
