Title: Tip - Animator duration settings - Android
Post by: JJdaCool on February 03, 2018, 02:11:10 PM

On some android devices, if animations or more specifically if animator duration is turned off then many features may not work in the mydlink app.
If animator is turned back on then most functions and buttons may work in the mydlink app.
This is just info for those, such as myself, who like to turn off animations on their android devices.
Use or change android developer options settings at your own risk for your android device.

Thanks JJdacool. I edited the title in your post btw.

Use Developer options at your own risk.

To enable, go to Settings > About device. Scroll down to Build Number and tap it 7 times. This will enable developer tools. Tap back and scroll to the bottom for Developer options.

I did send this info to the camera group to pass on to the developers to look into.

Try to run the device in safemode (after running  the phone in safe mode, you can see this article about how to get out of safe mode in android (https://www.experthoot.com/how-to-get-out-of-safe-mode-android/))
In safe mode animations are enabled and most of the not system apps are disabled. So this will be beneficial for us.
You are always free to run the android device in safe mode for any troubleshooting operation.
Thanks
