DCS-9XX - Cloning Camera Settings for Multiple Cameras
« on: July 17, 2012, 06:46:30 AM »

For DCS-9XX owners with multiple cameras, the "Configuration Settings File" is a useful tool for cloning the settings from one camera and quickly migrating those settings to additional cameras (of the same model) without manually entering the camera settings. This process can avoid unnecessary time reconfiguring multiple DCS-9XX. The following procedures describe how to save and load the "Configuration Settings" file "Save Configuration".

    DCS-930L, DCS-932L, DCS-942L

    • Identify the IP address of the fully-configured camera for which settings will be migrated
    • Using a web browser, log into the camera web interface (i.e. enter the camera IP address in the browser address field)
    • Navigate to MAINTENANCE > System > Save To Local Hard Drive > Save Configuration and save the "Configuration Settings" file to the PC desktop
    • Identify the IP address of a camera (of the same model) to upload the saved settings
    • Using a web browser, log into the web interface of the second camera
    • Navigate to MAINTENANCE > System > Load From Local Hard Drive and upload the previously saved "Configuration Settings" file

    DCS-920L

    • Identify the IP address of the fully-configured camera for which settings will be migrated
    • Using a web browser, log into the camera web interface (i.e. enter the camera IP address in the browser address field)
    • Navigate to MAINTENANCE > Backup and Restore > Save To Local Hard Drive > Save Configuration and save the "Configuration Settings" file to the PC desktop
    • Identify the IP address of a camera (of the same model) to upload the saved settings
    • Using a web browser, log into the web interface of the second camera
    • Navigate to MAINTENANCE > Backup and Restore > Load From Local Hard Drive and upload the previously saved "Configuration Settings" file

    Notes

    • If a static IP address was saved in the source camera, make sure to change the static IP address in each successive camera to avoid potential conflicts.
