Mysterious blue button and other "hidden features"
« on: October 13, 2009, 07:38:10 PM »

No one seems to be able to explain much about the mysterious blue button on the side of the DIR-625 rev C other then "It's for WPS." Yes I realize that but how do you use it?
Does it have anything to do with the Advanced/Wi-FI Protected Setup/Unconfigured/Configured button?

If you press it it just blinks non stop until you unplug it.

Here is why I ask:

Check out what these guy are doing with Windows 7.
I would like to know if the button on the DIR-625 provides this functionality.

Now onto WCN (Windows Connect Now) This is the USB method of easily setting up security on your clients.
Works great with with XP and Vista.
It's supposed to work with the DIR-625 as well. NOT!

The documentation that comes with the DIR-625 says if you switch "Setup/USB Settings/USB type to: WCN configuration and plug in a USB with WCN setting on it the USB light on the front will blink 3 times and walah! Your router is configured!

Doesn't work. Doesnt even blink.

Am I missing something or is this just feature that never quite made it out of the blocks?
