Android version 3.2.4 was good.   Recently d-link screwed things up by releasing 3.3.0 and I stupidly upgraded to 3.3.0 via the Play Store.

There are enumerable complaints about 3.3.0, including, but not limited to:

1.  Increased bandwidth requirement

2.  Stupid flag message stating that a Wi-fi connection is required, when it is actually NOT required, as 4G works.

3.  Auto-rotation and fill screen no longer works.  You are left with a small image.

How does one go back to V 3.2.4 ?

Found a solution to one of the problems.  If one taps twice quickly on the image, it will go landscape, still ignoring auto-rotation.  Once in landscape, the buttons become labelled.  Strange.  Although auto-rotation is never active, if one taps the image twice again it goes back to the small portrait view and buttons are no longer identified.  Strange, because there is more room to do so.

So there's manual rotation only, done by tapping the image, and the buttons are labelled only in landscape view.

Is it any better than the prior version ?   Or is it worse ?

Checked the Play Store:  no new version.

Thank you.

I haven't had any problems on my iPhone. I presume If your using the Android version, it maybe still in testing or still getting posted to Androids resources. Versions may differ...

I recommend that you phone contact your regional D-Link support office and ask for help and information regarding this. We find that phone contact has better immediate results over using email.
Let us know how it goes please.

I agree that the latest Android release is a mixed bag, but overall positive IMHO. The navigation is much easier to use than on the prior version, as it functions more intuitively once you get used to it. The transition between portrait and landscape is a big wacky in its implementation (I would like to see a settings option for manual vs. automatic switching). I hear from other users that the Mac version of mydlink Lite offers access to preset positions for pan tilt cameras.  If that's the case, I'm looking forward for that functionality to make its way over to the Android platform.

Mr. JL, please have drink programmers eliminate the stupid mandatory flag on launch  "No Wireless Connection:  To connect……….. setting".

The 4G is a wireless connection.

This flag is as stupid has having your automobile dashboard announce each and every you get into your car "You have entered your car.  To use the car fully you must start the engine".  At least have them make this flag as a preference to turn it on or off.

What should happen is that no warning flag appears unless there is NO connection.

The iPad version is still full of bugs. All you need to do, go to the apple app store and read the reviews on the recent versions. And as much as I respect and I appreciate Mr. FurryNantz, I hate his long cut-and-paste signature about contacting our "friendly" Dlink phone support line to resolve problems. Version 3.3 has been out for 2 months and nothing is really done to resolve them. I, for one, would love to find a way to fall back to version 3.2, as I care a lot more on things working right, rather than any new bells and whistles. The app freezes on some of my cameras when I switch resolution from 240 to 480. Also, the resolution on the screen is not reported accurately (when you hit the I button you get something different). Bandwidth is significantly lower. In pan and tilt cameras you could see the view changing, but with the new gizmo, you see only the final position but you can hear the motor grinding while you wait. Sound is choppy, etc, etc.

Now on the positive side, there are more camera models to add for support, while maintaining support to older models. New features are added. We realize that this is no simple task, and we appreciate the efforts. But, as luck has it, any drastic change to the EUI with new features, can be challenging with the introduction of new bugs. We, users, get upset, because we upgrade from a working version, to one that has problems, with NO CAPABILITY to fall back to the version that worked for us.

While posting issues in this forum is a great means of sharing information with other members and notifying D-Link of issues, D-Link escalates issues for resolution based on the volume of calls received through the official D-Link support desk. If D-Link receives a large number of calls pertaining to the same issue, that issue is more likely to be escalated as a problem for investigation and resolution. As such, in addition to posting issues in this forum, forum members are encouraged to call the toll free D-Link support desk to report their issues.

I agree with you!

BTW, I don't get paid to correct d-link's poor programming.   If someone here works for d-link and realizes our constructive criticisms are correct, then that employee should expedite our requests and shuttle them to the programmers responsible for these errors.

Simple.

I believe the user RyoS is part of the Dlink software team, and he has been instrumental and helpful in resolving some of our issues. How long is it going to take? I do not know. It will depend on a lot of issues.

I suppose everything can help to get Dlink's attention. Phone calls are important, but perhaps they land into the wrong ears. Complains in this forum certainly help, but none more important than the bad evaluations of the software on the app store. This was my first step to go with the Dlink services, as the reviews were quite positive on the free app side. After that I became familiar with the support phone lines and this forum.  Bottom line: bad reviews means bad business. Nobody wants to inherit problems.

I don't want to spout boilerplate language, in part due to some of the earlier replies, but this merits some repetition:

D-Link typically escalates issues for resolution based on the volume of calls received through the official D-Link support desk. If D-Link receives a large number of calls pertaining to the same issue, that issue is more likely to be escalated as a problem for investigation and resolution. To raise awareness, forum members are encouraged to call the toll free D-Link support desk to report their issue: 1-888-851-6464

We (meaning the forum mods) do have D-Link's ear to a degree, and we do pass forward high impact issues for review. The best course of action is a combination of support desk + forum posts.

I have the same problem with my DCS-942L Cams and my Samsung GT-S5570 Phone.
I installed again the working 3.2.4 version that I found on http://www.apk4fun.com/apk/12574/.
Just copy the apk file to your Phone (SD Card) and install it with APK Installer Android Application.
And its working again.
Greetings GB
