Firmware Upgrade Failed. DIR-879. NEED HELP!
« on: January 11, 2017, 12:06:15 AM »

I need help. So i was upgrading my firmware to the 1.04 through LAN cable earlier today. everything was going fine till like 60 or 70% it just went away then router rebooted and now everything has changed. Can't access the web page it says i need to set up my internet connection but it'll just sit there and not do anything. So i reset the router, rebooted the router, and now ive been trying to do an emergency flash back to the 1.03 by changing my ip to static (192.168.0.2) since the routers ip is 192.168.0.1 and the subnet mask is 255.255.255.0 and my default gateway im doing the same as the router ip 192.168.0.1. Then i unplug the router and hold the reset till it blinks constantly and goto 192.168.0.1 on my web browser and it says emergency something but on the internet tab it says system repair. ill then select the .bin file and click upload and it acts like its loading but i never get a "success" am i doing something wrong or is the router just a paper weight now? :-\

Link>Welcome!

  • What region are you located?

Be sure to follow this:
Emergency Recovery Mode

If this fails, I recommend that you phone contact your regional D-Link support office and ask for help and information regarding this. We find that phone contact has better immediate results over using email.
Let us know how it goes please.
