Ok, really think this is a problem with the TV.

Does the TV have a wired LAN cable connection by chance? If so, does it connect there?

It does and I would have to run a pretty long cable!

What beats me here is that the tv connects to my host router just fine! Then y not the extender!!  :-[

Possible there is a compatibility issue between the TVs Wifi and the DAP-1320 extender WiFi.

I recommend that you phone contact DLink support and talk to level 2 or higher support. Tell them that the TV connects to the main host router however fails to connect to the DAP.

Another suggestion would be to test a different DAP model, say a DAP-1360 or a 1525 and see if any one of these might help. Either one of these DAPs you could connect a LAN wired able to the back of the DAP from the TV if you bridge the DAP. The 1360 an also work as a repeater or extender as well. The 1525 only can do wired AP or Bridge mode...it's does not support wireless extending or repeating.

If wirelessly connecting the TV with any DAP model, an alternative suggestion would be to install some PowerLine products instead...

What region are you located?

For what it is worth I have the same issue with a new Samsung TV and my DAP-1320.  TV connects fine to the main router, but it is too far away for a good signal.  All other devices working fine on DAP at same location as the TV.  Definitely some kind of compatibility issue with the DAP and the Samsung TV.  I may have to just bite the bullet and move my main router as most of the devices are now located a fair distance from it anyway.

Could you run thru my #2 response and try some of the suggestions and reply to the questions and see if anything helps?

What is the distance between the DAP and the main host router?

I, too, am finding it impossible to connect the DAP-1320 to my Samsung BD-E5900. Just wondering if either of the folks who were experiencing the same issue found a resolution to the problem.
I would appreciate any updates. I've tried every suggestion posted without success, other than trying alternate products. If D-Link would like to supply them, I would be delighted to even do that.
This has to be one of the most frustrating products I've ever purchased, exceeded only by the poor customer service associated with it.

Link>Welcome!

  • What Hardware version is your DAP? Look at sticker under DAP.
  • Link>What Firmware version is currently loaded? Found on the DAPs web page under status.
  • What region are you located?

What mode is the DAP running in? AP or Bridge?
What mft and model is the main host router?
Can you review this and provide feedback for each question?
