how to : OpenVPN client to a windows OpenVPN server
« on: June 04, 2018, 06:28:30 AM »

Hi,

I have a remote site with Open VPN serveur on a windows server.
I have my clients on my local site behind the DSR1000 able to connect via OpenVPN with their certificate and client.openvpn file and it works.

So my client config and server config and ports etc all works.

But i would like to mount the VPN from using the Dlink DSR as the client to avoid each PC mounting it's owbn VPN.

I haveinstalled my CA certificate , i tried all what i thought logic, but it doens't work. i ued http://www.dlink.ua/sites/default/files/dsr/DLink_DSR_User_Manual_1.05.pdf
Don't even see logs in my log files, i don't know if it try to start !

Is their any way to load config from openvpn files (as they works or a how to to be able to have it work ?

Thanks

I recommend that you phone contact your regional D-Link support office and ask for help and information regarding this. We find that phone contact has better immediate results over using email.
Let us know how it goes please.

Of Course Local support were unable to reply my if i'm here ....

Let's share to perhaps succeed making it works !!

I have an error code like this in My DSR as an OpenVPN Client :

Authenticate/Decrypt packet error: cipher final failed

So i checked my server conf, but nothing is specified. It seams we have only 4 options when the DSR is client for CIPHER.
So i will try adding cipher AES-256-CBC in my server openvpn file , and selec it also in my gui of the DSR.   And i will test tonight after work ...

Hi,
After adding cipher AES-256-CBC in my serveur conf file and selecting it in the gui ofthe DSR i still have this error.

Authenticate/Decrypt packet error: cipher final failed

i had to change my pc client conf file to test a,d they works with AES256.

Seams the AES 256 is not well implémented in DSR...
