Will D-Link Support HomeKit or IFTTT?
« on: September 02, 2014, 08:50:57 AM »

Right now the only real advantage with competing products is that they support IFTTT which is a huge plus for me. Will d-Link be adding support for IFTTT for the DSP-W215 in the near future? Also will it support HomeKit for iOS8?

We will support both, unfortunately we have no ETA dates we can share at this time.

Any update on IFTTT??

No specific date yet, but I now the team is planning to roll out an update the mydlink™ Home Cloud service at the end of August and that should put this really closed.  If I was to guesstimate the time, I would say by the end of the year.  Sorry, I wish it would be sooner.  Thanks everyone for your patience!!!

Cool thanks for the update. Today I used IFTTT to trigger a SMS notification when motion is detected on my camera :)

If you have email triggers to gmail, than you can have IFTTT scan your email and than when it see's the motion detected email, it sends a SMS..so it's easier to get alerted :)

mail notifications are a work around of IFTTT can provide. Personally I like to get the D-Link camera or a motion sensor and triggers the D-Link plug using IFTTT.  I m on the move to get all my home storage/security/automation to D-Link but I have also devices that are connected to IFTTT.As I see last weeks D-link is ready to push on the market new devices that are connected each other but still no IFTTT integration.
D-link please support your customers to this "battle" of the multi platform nightmare using IFTTT. Customers IMHO will pay back with their royalty and a huge FREE advertisment.

any news on that?
I'm seriously considering selling all my D-link devices (5) to move to another standard (smarthings maybe) that would actually allow me more integration with 3rd party apps like IFTTT

I have everything needed for Homekit too but I believe this is even more unlikely to be supported :/

same here...I m loosing my faith....I own 5 d-link ip cameras as I was exited with the D-link cloud thing...but searching more on web, d-link seems to be 2 steps behind the IoT madness.
IFTTT IMHO, is the train for every manufacturer to jumb. If D-link did not see it coming, we just drop D-link and move forward!

I recommend that you phone contact your regional D-Link support office and ask for help and information regarding this. We find that phone contact has better immediate results over using email.
Let us know how it goes please.
