Ya, seems like the unit is bad and has been bad for a while. Defiantly contact D-Link support.

Thanks.  I did contact D-Link.  Of course, they had me redo all the things I tried several times before.  They did determine that it was, in fact, defective.  I will have to pay the shipping to send it back, but at least (I hope) I will get a working unit!
