Multi VLAN Issue
« on: May 18, 2011, 10:32:02 AM »

I have a network setup with multiple 1228p switches and approx 100 access points.  I use the Dlink Wan manager software to manage them and it works great.   I have vlan's setup for each segment of the network for a total of 5 vlans.  Each vlan has its own subnet as well.  I have a DFL-860 doing all the security and DHCP services per vlan.

MY QUESTION:  I have a workstation that manages all these AP's and i need them to all be able to talk to it.  I currently have 5 network cards in it that are tied to each Vlan so they can talk.  I have tried setting up the first card on a vlan port that is tagged for all vlans but it still will not see the AP;s.  This may be a dumb question but do i need a layer  three switch to get these to communicate over one NIC and IP?

Vlan 1 192.168.1.x
Vlan 2 192.168.2.x
Vlan 3 192.168.3.x
you get the picture!!
