Most of the guys I play with probably don't have the speeds I run, not even close! They might have 20Down and maybe 2Up.

I've had a good few days messing around but have been wired directly to my modem since I haven't had to use my network for anything else. I will see how everything runs tonight whe I get online and am wired into router.

Is there a gaming section to discuss issues with Modems, Routers, etc... ?

This is what I get when I run a speed test with my D-Link DWA-160Extreme N Dual Band USB Adapter

You can post anything regarding modems and routers, or, there is a Off Topic thread for most anything.  ;D

So far everything seems ok. I get better transfer when I hook up straight to my Modem but I think that is to be expected. You can still notice some latency issues but that probably the people that I play against that have dial up internet and it takes 2 clips of ammo to kill.

I'm hoping to get the Moto Surfboard modem in the next couple of weeks and hopefully that new gaming router when it comes out. I also am going to upgrade my switch in the next few weeks also.

I'll fill Furry  in on my goal to become Full NerD, lol

I know this thread is a few days old.. But I just wanted to throw out there that surprisingly the Zoom 5341J Modem is actually a GREAT modem- I've personally tested it against a few Moto Surfboards and it beat it in most cases. Plus with the amount of Channel Bonding compared to most Modems in it's price range.. It would be hard to beat..

On another note I am also waiting on the Dlink dgl-5500. My only concern with that router is that the dlink site doesn't confirm cloud support yet.. and it also doesn't say anywhere about the new extended range technology they talk about on the Dlink DIR-868L... I've sent dlink.com a few emails with no response.. Fury would you happen to know the answers? because now that the DIR-868L is out.. It's hard to wait.. lol

From what I know, the DGL-5500 will not be supporting any Cloud services at this time. This is a gaming router, not a Cloud services router so I presume the developers have put a lot of work in to this router for the "gaming" market.
