Ability to install programs such as Twonky server, instead of having to manually install.

Setup a security server, plug in a powered usb hub and be able to setup for security purposes. upto 10 webcams, ip camera's

Be able to plug in a extenal hard drive and transfer the data from it. or setup that a backup automatically kicks in if the external hard drive has been setup from with in the dns as a backup drive.

I know that the NAS can send an email with the SMART report, but i would like to get (through email) the complete SMART report, not just : "The Result Of The Test Is: Pass", specially when I select the full SMART test which takes a few hours to perform.

Also, could we somehow customize the email templates ? I like the "Sincerely, Your NAS" part but it's sometimes annoying :)

Didn't add this item as this is too "off to the side" in terms of critical or value added functionality

I think i found a regression...
I'm used to acess remotely my NAS, in a port diferent then 80.

When i get login (example myname.dyndns.info:8888), if goes to "myname.dyndns.info/web/application_user.html", changing to port 80 / lossing port parameter and giving me timeout error
(previous firmware 2.0 would stay in "myname.dyndns.info:8888/web/application_user.html"

I've used to do this with firefox, now testing with chrome and same issue.
Maybe,

Thanks for reporting this. I'll need validation from a couple of more members to substantiate your issue as a bug before adding to our list.  ???

TFTP Server so i could install OS via PXE would be a nice addition to the wonderful NAS

Reminder for notifications support using SMTP servers that uses TLS/SSL, ie Gmail, hotmail etc.

really would be useful since i dont wanna run a standalone mailserver just to mail logs to me

I saw that others had similar problems to mine regarding hard drive format. For some reason the DNS 320 doesn't seem to want to format the 2nd drive unless it's alone in the NAS.

Maybe a future firmware could fix this problem ?

More on the problem in the thread : http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?topic=45371.msg165589
