Good Morning,

I noticed this morning a new file posted on the Canadian Support site and all other builds (including the recently released 1.11) are removed. This new file is dated November 25, 2016 and my hope was that this is a fix to the problems we had with the initially released 1.10. I have installed this build and (Fingers Crossed) so far so good! No dropouts since I installed it - I even had dropouts with 1.11 but this build is good so far!

The way this is labelled with _beta does this mean that this is a beta re-release of 1.10? It seems odd though that 1.11 is gone considering it was labelled as a security release.

The US site doesn't contain this build ... at least not yet!

Anyone have any info?

Looks like the same build 07 as whats posted on the USA site:
http://support.dlink.com/ProductInfo.aspx?m=DIR-890L%2FR

Looking at the file sizes between the USA and CA version, USA 19,529 and CA 19,601Mb. Maybe there's some changes.  :o

"No dropouts since I installed it - I even had dropouts with 1.11 but this build is good so far! " This was true for me also... At first when I tested 1.11 and had no dropouts but as time went on I noticed it happing more when at a distance from router. I didn't have time to report it here because of work.  But this version does seem ok.... Most of my dropouts happen two floors up in the bedroom and none so far.

Sounds like maybe the wifi drivers have been corrected in this version. Keep us posted. I'll load mine up as well, however I haven't seen any issues with v1.11. Had two bridges streaming video and numerous devices connected. Didn't see anything. I can only think that maybe some particular devices had issue with the wifi drivers which seem to be the cause. Hope this new version works all around.

Ok, I loaded my 890L with v1.10Beta CA down from v1.11WW. I'm testing out a 868L for a while and will put the 890L on tomorrow probably.

I'm seeing good wireless speeds on this FW with a DWA-192 adapter and SC enabled:

It dosent works here.. It keeps disconnecting my tablet and phone,  but only when I play games on it...
Seems like the router is disconnecting the units to fast if there isn't any up or down stream going on

Can you downgrade to v1.09 to see if this fixes this?

I'm not seeing any issues with this version loaded.

So... What's the general consensus?  Is this new Canadian Beta the way to go, or are we still waiting for something stable in the rest of NA?  Still on 1.09 and don't want the fight with the family if I upgrade to something "not quite" stable yet!

My router just hard crashed and had to be reset, for the first time ever.  This is why I started looking into what firmwares were out there.  That, and my router is now telling me about 1.10 being ready to be downloaded and installed as an upgrade.  No auto updating for me, thank you.

How are you, who are running this firmware, liking the results?

I've got this version on my 890L been working solid for me and I haven't seen any crashes with my unit on any versions. I presume there was some issues on the initial release of v1.10 on the first build. I didn't see them however I'm sure that there is some issue as I was told there was a problem in SmartConnect on that build. I haven't seen any issues on this B07 beta build. Seen some solid speeds too with my DWA-192 after doing some fiddling with Windows:

Hi guys, I'm new in the forum, I have a Dir-890L, updated the 1.10b07_beta in Dec, 2016, Last few weeks my ipad and iphone started to drop the wifi connection  every time I tried to use them.  In the last few days, I've experienced that my 2 Iphone 6 and 6+ can't get internet services thru the regular wifi channel from my router, I've to get on line as a "guest" and today my ipad internet and Nest not working with the regular wifi channel as well. So far I have to connect all of them with "Guest" wi-fi, anyone know why and how to fix it, thank you!

Link>Welcome!

  • What region are you located?
  • Was a Factory Reset performed before and after any firmware updates then set up from scratch?
  Link> >FW Update Process
  • Was the router working before any firmware updates?

What iOS versions are you using?
I'm on iOS 9.3.2 on my 6sP and have a iPad, iPhone 4s and 5 and other devices. Work well with this version of FW.
Is Smart Connect enabled? Mine is enabled.
  • Any 2.4Ghz or 5Ghz cordless house phones or WiFi APs near by that maybe causing interferences?
  • Any other WiFi routers in the area that maybe causing interferences? Link> Use a WiFi Scanner to find out. How many?
