202L IP Address Change Kicks Cam off 202L
« on: October 23, 2016, 09:27:24 PM »

https://community.netgear.com/t5/WiFi-Range-Extenders-Repeaters/how-to-reserve-ip-address-for-connected-device/td-p/456204

I have the exact problem above. The only variation is the model of the router and extender. But the problem is the same.

What happens is every day or two my DLINK cam is assigned a new IP address. This has no impact on the mydlink app as the cam is rock steady despite the switch. However, when this happens the cam is disconnected from my 202L. I then have to go into the 202L app and connect the cam again with the new IP address. About a day or two later, the process repeats and I have to do the same. How to fix this or am I out of luck due to a flaw with my router and extender?

You haven't assigned an IP address to them in the router?

I reserved the assigned IP address hoping it would "lock." It didn't but later the assigned IP was no longer sequential ie it had jumped from .1 to .2 but is now not sequential and that appears to have resolved the problem. I did try a static IP with the cam but it froze and I could not get it online until I reset it. So I stuck with the reserved IP address method which has served me tremendously well (99.9% reliability over a long duration of time) for my other cams.
