Title: D-link DES-1210-28P password problem
Post by: csenyi10 on November 25, 2015, 08:11:51 AM
I have 4 DES-1210-28P and 4 DGS-1210-24 device. I changed the passwords for security reasons with copy paste (all with one password). I can login to the DGS devices, but cannot login to the DES devices (it says wrong password). I thought it was just a browser problem, but i also cannot access them via telnet. The password I used is 16 char with letters (capital and small) and numbers. I dont use any special chars like: #!%/='§"+

Is this a software bug? What could went wrong? I don't know exactly what firmware is on at these switches but, V2.02.002 firmware release notes says: fixed password setting problem on some character combinations. What is that mean exactly? Any ideas? I really want to access these switches.

Thanks for your help guys in advance!

Tried a factory reset to clear the PW info the set up from scratch and then manually type in the PW instead of copy and paste?

If there is any solution, I don't want to do a factory reset, because all the settings are also lost with the PW and I want to keep those. But I tried manually typing. No success.

I don't know of any other way to gain access other than using default settings after a factory reset.  :-\

Try a different PC if that hasn't been tried.
