ir and Windows
« on: May 25, 2014, 10:00:54 PM »

Not MS Windows. .. but the ones in your homes.

So we all know about the Window glass reflects the ir. .. but is it 100% or 75%? Anyone run any tests? Is there bleed through on the other side?

I should probably Google this first to find academic studies. ?

Although  I can't quantify my statements with numerical data, I can say there's going to be quite a bit of reflection and refraction, significantly decreasing the effective radiation that does work it's way through. I'm sure the the window type will also impact IR penetration: single vs. double paned glass;  although a completely different wavelength, will UV protected glass also filter-out some IR?
