Wireless Signal Problems after firmware 1.13
« on: October 16, 2008, 03:59:52 PM »

Hi, I have been reading the post about the wireless drops and other problems.  I too have experienced the same problems.  My DGL-4500 is running 5.2ghz on wireless n and a and before the update my DAP-1555 had a transfer rate between 200 Mbps to 260 Mbps at a signal strength between 80% to 96%.  My brother's Xbox 360 wireless had a transfer rate between 48 to 54 Mbps at a signal strength between 70% to 90%.  Now after the update my DAP-1555 transfer rate is 162 Mbps or less and signal strength of 48% or less and my brother 360's transfer rate  is between 6 to 18 Mbps and signal strength of 30% or less.  The places of the wireless devices has not change before and after the update and the wireless signal goes through walls.  I have the transmission power on high, MAC address filters, WPA security and with both Cipher Types.  The only change was the update from 1.02 to 1.13.  I think the update messed with the transmission power and changed the Wifi cerits to HT40 mode.

This seem to have taken place with fw 1.12 and all after.

Bad news; you cant go back to fw 1.02 as of now.
