DNS-o-Matic
« on: August 16, 2018, 03:00:20 PM »

I can't get DNS-o-Matic to connect and update using the manual settings on the Dynamic DNS page.

I did a bit of searching around these forums and it seems to work on some routers and not on others (some appear to be working after a firmware fix).  Is this a known issue with this router/firmware version (I'm using v1.21)?

I'm using the following settings:

Enable Dynamic DNS:    Enabled
Status:    Disconnected
Server Address:    updates.dnsomatic.com   Manual
Host Name: all.dnsomatic.com
User Name: username
Password: password
Time Out:    24 hours

  • What region are you located?

  • Was the router working before any firmware updates?

Internet Service Provider and Modem Configurations
  • What ISP Service do you have? Cable or DSL?
  • What ISP Modem Mfr. and model # do you have?

Not sure if DNSoMatic is supported on this model router. Might try NoIP or DDNS. I know D-Links DDNS services should work on this model router...

The router is brand new and came with v1.2 firmware (which is the latest).  I'm on Virgin Media cable with an Arris TG2492LG-VM hub set to modem mode.

DynDNS works OK but DNS-o_Matic will update both DYN and OpenDNS together.

I can't get D-Links DDNS to work as the sign up page on their website won't recognise the serial number of the router!!!
