So i have the main router and 2 extenders, the extenders are working by utilizing the ethernet ports. ie, i have an ethernet wire running from my main router to a switch which then goes to the extender.
I am sitting right next to the extender when working and its randomly dropping throughout the day and i have no idea why (both my laptop and my phone). My laptop will say connected but no internet... Any ideas?
Router version:
Current Firmware Version: 1.01, Thu 03 Aug 2017
Current Firmware Date: 2017-08-03 02:40:00
Extender versions:
Current Firmware Version: 1.01, Thu 30 Aug 2018
Current Firmware Date: 2018-08-30 15:59:00
Any suggestions would be awesome!

Extender FW updated?

Swap Extenders places?
-
Says extender FW was taken down :( and will swapping extenders do anything?
-
Ok, will check on FW status.
Yes, let swap extender positions to see if the problem follows or not. Also try the Extender wirelessly connected instead of ethernet connected...
-
Sounds good! Which beta firmware am i safe to test out and where can I find them?
Im new to the Dlink forum and there are a few firmware posts so Im not sure which ones are for my router, which are for the extenders and what order any of them need to be installed in.

Am i safe to download:
ftp://FTP2.DLINK.COM/SECURITY_ADVISEMENTS/COVR-3902/REVA/COVR-1300E_REVA_FIRMWARE_PATCH_EXTENDER_v1.01B02_WPA2.zip
on my extenders? (I am in Canada)

That's what I have on my extender, I am in US.

Yes.

I tried it, came up with the same FW as before
Current Firmware Version: 1.01, Thu 30 Aug 2018
Current Firmware Date: 2018-08-30 15:59:00
So i guess my extenders are already the latest and greatest? What about my router? Which FW should I be running with?
-
v1.01 B05
Which I presume you already have.
-
Not too sure how to check the B version. but
Current Firmware Version: 1.01, Thu 03 Aug 2017
Current Firmware Date: 2017-08-03 02:40:00
I feel like there should be something newer than 2017 for the router?
-
Well there hasn't been much user problems posted since 2017 so I presume D-Link must consider the FW good enough.
So, Can you wirelessly connect the extenders and see if they drop connection?
Swap extenders around as well to see if the problem follows one or both of the extenders.
-
If you log into the router and the type:
http://192.168.1.1/version.txt ( or whatever you have the IP set at)
you will see the actual firmware info. You can do same for extender, just use it's IP after logging into the admin menu.

My router is running :
ftp://ftp2.dlink.com/SECURITY_ADVISEMENTS/COVR-3902/REVA/COVR-3902_REVA_ROUTER_FIRMWARE_v1.01B05_BETA.zip
Has Jan 2019 as it's date.

Tried swapping, they still dropped. I cant connect wirelessly because the speed of the extender drops dramatically

Weird, on my router i have 1.01B05 and it has Aug2017 as the date

I think mine is still considered a 'BETA" after a year and a half.
-
So update... did that now im encountering an issue thats happened before. For some reason the one extender is taking down my entire network. No idea why, i have to unplug it and restart my router and other extender...
I think this extender is faulty, any suggestions?

Is the system stable with just the 1 extender online?
