I switched back to 1.05b2 and then 1.05b1, and now the wifi works fine, but I cannot access any site on the PC connected by ethernet to the router. From any mobile device connected to the wireless network the internet works fine, but from the PC I cannot load any site. Ping works fine, the torrents work fine, just the sites. Damn.

All these without a restart on the PC. After that, I reinstalled the network adapter's drivers again, ran a scan with the AV, with Malwarebytes Anti Malware, ipconfig /flushdns, all in vain :))

Should only take a reboot. Do other PCs exhibit the same thing?
Did you follow the FW update process?
I recommend rebooting the PC after the last factory reset and clear any browser caches.

One thing I noticed with v1.07, SmartConnect is not working I believe. I've switched it OFF and my wifi is working well so far. Ive set Auto mode and channel width, however set manual channel 11 on 2.4Ghz and 48 on 5ghz. I have a 2ndary AP in the closet downstairs on channel 1 and 161.

I have rebooted the PC since then, and the update was correct: reset - fw update - reset.
I hope this is a PC issue, although I have Win8 and Linux Mint in dual boot mode, and the I cannot access sites on neither SO. I'll try with another network card if I find one in the house. Anyway, I am back to 1.05, at least with this one I have more than a week of working wifi.

I gave up. After installing/uninstalling AV, firewall settings, network card drivers, different cables and ethernet ports, I hooked up a laptop via ehernet to the router and I have the same problem on the laptop, too. Sites fail to load, ping is ok, and in the meantime wifi works just fine.
I have just completed the online form for the warranty pickup. I hope I receive back a new unit without any problems :-)

Ya, seems like it maybe a faulty router. I recommend phone contacting your regional D-Link support office next week if you don't hear back from them via email

Let us know how it goes.

I just received an email from the warranty company that the router is working just fine and they are sending it back to me. Seems like I will be stuck with this unit for a while...

How long did they test it for? 20 days? Probably not.
If they did test it out and it worked there for them for short duration, then could be that something in your area or surroundings could be a possible cause of interference on the router. Mines been online for over 5 days last time I checked. We had a power bump last nite so it reset I believe. I've only noticed one disconnect with my DCS-933L camera and not sure why that happened. Other then that, all of my devices are working well using the latest beta.

Might ask them if they can run a longer test to be sure.

The main reason for sending it to warranty was that I could not browse/download anything with a PC/laptop plugged in the ethernet port. I am not sure how this worked for them, as I spend an entire weekend trying to make it work, to no avail.

Was this PC the only device that could not browse or access the internet? Did other devices access the internet ok?

Any other device connected on the wifi network worked ok, including the laptop. Then I plugged the laptop into the ethernet port of the router and I couldn't access any website or download anyhing. Ping worked fine, though.
And I tried it with different cables (including the one that came with the router), all 3 ethernet ports, another network card (on the PC).
I swapped the router with my older one and everything works fine, without a restart of the OS.

Ya I haven't seen this issue with mine, however most of my devices are connected thru a switch. I have my XB1 connected to the back of the 880L though.
When you connect the LT to the back of the 880L, do you disable the wireless radio first on the LT, then connect the cable? Check the status of the connection in Windows to see if it gets all IP addressing under Status. Seems that maybe there could be a configuration issue here.

Yes, I disabled the wifi on the laptop before connecting, and the laptop gets an assigned IP.
The tests were done after I performed a reset to default settings on the router, so I configured only the PPPoE connection and the wifi (SC on/off, does not matter). The PC gets an IP, ping works ok, so it's not the PC/laptop which is faulty. I tried manually assigning an IP address to the PC / laptop, same problem.
So if I have two devices that work on their own but do not work when plugged in the ethernet port of the router, and also work plugged into another router, I guess it is the first router which has some problems.

Basically, you turn on the router, configure PPPoE from the PC, save the settings, and the internet does not work on the PC. It's simple as that, I don't know how they kept it for a week and then told me it works. Boy I would like it to work, otherwise I would not have sent it away.

Ok, lets try this when you get the router back. Can you set the ISP modem up for main router mode and not bridged. Don't configure PPPoE on the 880L. Just use DHCP and let the 880L get an IP address from the ISP modem.

Do you have access to the ISP modems web page at all? Would be helpful if you did and it had a DMZ feature.
What Mfr and model# is the ISP modem?

I don't have anything to configure on the ISP modem. I just plug in the ethernet cable and deal with the PPPoE in the main router.
